PAINTED - February, 2005

So here is the Ain't Miss Behavin' Jeep with some airbrush work done to spruce it up.  She turned out not too bad.

COMPLETED MODS - January 24, 2005

WINTER MODS - January 3, 2005

After many late nights over the Christmas Season we finally got all the painting and tune up done and she is finally all fixed up. Here are a few photos of the stuff being painted. We painted the fender flares, the hood scoops the new fender and finally the roll cage.

WINTER MODS - Winter 2004/2005

We are in the process of doing a couple of mods to the Jeep this winter so can race at the Saddledome.  So Tee-G will get a permanent racing harness and window net, drive shaft hoops and all the necessary safety stuff that's required. Aesthetically she's gonna finally get her new fender on the drivers side that had been creamed when we bought her (that's why we got such a good deal on her). As you can see we have the old fender off, we just have to grab some paint, paint it and reinstall it and she won't look so wounded anymore.

We are also gonna go with the Sahara fender flares for that extra inch which will be painted red at the same time the fender is getting its paint job. We also installed some fancy new 8" wide Eagle Aluminum rims which I think make the Jeep look classy, and finally some snazzy hood scoops, we are quite the family of hood scoop geeks, think it will go faster now?

We had just purchased a 2000 TJ lifted which had 10" wide rims, a tube rear bumper, nerf bars and some other goodies. So the rims went to Kens new All Juiced Up Jeep and the bumper and nerf bars will go on this Jeep.  We also threw a fresh coat of paint on last years Christmas present, the front winch bumper and we will also need to add a new winch as mine broke last year. A few more days and she'll be already for the 2005 racing and 4 wheelin' season!

We have both the TeeJays in the shop right now and hope that by the new year they will be almost ready. There has already been talk of Miss Behavin Too (the gorgeous aqua Jeep YJ) getting a turn in the shop and finally getting that big block running, the new steps and some new bumpers.....I can't wait, its gonna be a busy winter!

CAGE ME UP - November 1, 2003

So much for not planning many modifications to the little TeeJay. We had the boys at Federal Fusion make us a cage so that we can race and four wheel her with no worries. They added to the existing rear cage and made it so the soft top and hard top could be used with it. Here are a few photos of how it turned out. She looks great and we can now mount the CB in the top of the cage too.

LOCK ME UP - September, 2003

Not literally of course but in September after a trying time four wheeling September Long weekend we ended up having to replace the pinion seal as she was marking her territory in a bad way.  We put a Detroit no spin locker in her and we also had to take the radiator out and clean it and drop the fuel tank as she just wouldn't run and fix the fuel filter, nothing a screwdriver and hammer could do to unblock the filter!

LIFT ME UP - May, 2003

Well now that we have a new TJ we may as well use her so the first mod was to install a 2" lift.  We decided to stay small with this one so we could use her daily as we needed a get-a-round ride and also by keeping her small we would find the trails to be a new challenge.  We ordered the 2" Suspension lift from our friends at 4 Wheel Parts in Edmonton (thanks Shane) and installed it in an evening.  It was a very simple lift to put in as everything still worked without extending  a bunch of stuff.  After we put the lift on we stole the 32" Goodyear MTR's off the Cherokee and put them on, what a perfect final touch.

As May long weekend was only a few days away we added a CB radio freshly purchased from Wal-Mart, a CD player freshly liberated from Jeep Stuff and a home made winch.   Yeah homemade, in that I mean we took an 8,000 low profile WARN winch and added the motor from an 8,274 which makes a pretty wicked hybrid 8,000 lb winch that has some awesome pulling power.  We even took the time to wire the remote inside so you can stay inside and winch (as long as you have a good swamper to pull cable!).

We don't plan to do too much to Tee-G unless the engine blows up but that rev limiter seems to save me time and time again whether on trail or on the race track.  If it does happen to go we do have a backup plan and that is to install a Vortec 6 from a 1995 S10 Blazer which will make for a good  bit more zoom zoom, its even in our possession just waiting for the day it gets to join forces with Tee-G.  We added a box for goodies, like spare hubs, alternators and starters, fire extinguisher for when Jimmy's around (HAHA ask Jimmy about his firestarting ways) and a four point harness for when she goes tuff truckin' (check out the adventures I had with her in 2003 under the events section of the website).

THE BIG BUY- May, 2003
In May we received a call from a fella that wanted to get rid of his Jeep as he had had enough and wanted to be rid of her.  She didn't run all that good and had a few dents but we couldn't refuse her at the deal we got.  Here's how she looked the day we brought her home.

The drivers side fender was dented, the tailgate mangled, a rim mangled, the windsheild cracked in the middle and just messy inside.  After a few hours of cleaning she looked better and smelled better.  She'll need a new fender eventually but that's no rush.  We plan to put a spare tire carrier on so that will hide the mangled tailgate and the rims will be sold to make way for lift and tires so she can go wheelin'.  As for the mechanical end of it the poor thing ran like crap and needed some help.  First the rad had a hole in it so off to the back shelf I went and put a used one in, we're not sure how but it took me 4 hours to do the swap - good thing I'm not paid by the hour, come to think of it I don't think I'm paid at all!  The trottle body had a sensor failing which made it chug and burp so we had been told if you put a throttle body from a 4.0 litre on you can get 10 more horse out of the 2.5 litre so we slapped one on with a tiny bit of modification.  She now purrs like a kitten and is ready for some minor up grades to go play May Long weekend!  Looking forward to my new toy but will be sad to say goodbye to the Cherokee, seems I can't have 4 toys, only three!

The new and improved ALL JUICED UP!

HELMET - February 15, 2005

Well here is what Ken's helmet looks like. I did not do a bunch of work to it as it is going to lose its Snell rating soon as it is getting old. I added some simple flames, the All Juiced Up name to the back of the helmet then hand painted Jeep Stuff and 4X4 Parts on the front. It has had one coat of clear but will have another good coat with the large paint gun once the complete Jeep is clear coated (hopefully sometime this week as he's itchin to test drive it). Here are a few other views of it.

COLOR MY WORLD - February 5, 2005

Tangerine Endura Polyurethane now covers the 2003 Jeep TJ and I might add looks pretty flashy. After many hours of painting, taping, airbrushing and pinstriping the TJ is pretty much ready aesthetically and has been flamed and touched up as much as I can do. Sometime this week Ken will clear coat her and I will hopefully be making stickers and adding them. There are a few things mechanically that need to be done and hopefully she will be ready by the weekend so we can do a bit more on my Jeep. Below are some pics of the airbrushing prep and paint job. Ken had also wanted black fender flares but when she was all done and we put the black flares on he was easily convinced that the front should be yellow and the rear orange like I had first suggested.

Here's All Juiced Up painted with the Tangerine polyurethane paint.  As you can see the hood and the front grill are already airbrushed as they were done prior to the body being painted.

Next I laid out the design in tape and then duplicated it from side to side on the Jeep.

Then I applied a base coat of white as the paint applies better to white than orange.

Here it is with the flames all painted but prior to the black pinstripe outline being added.

And here she sits with the black fender flares. That was the day of the poll and decision to change the color of the flares to match the paint scheme (glad he saw things my way as I didn't like the black flares!)

Here are a few views of her front, side and rear after orange was added to the rear flares and yellow to the front flares on February 13, 2005.  You will also note that some bling bling chrome has been added here and there.  Still to come, a lexan windshield, the Jeep Stuff and 4X4 Parts, Total Driveline and All Juiced Up decals, a coil spacer in the front to bump it up a bit and some last minute mechanical stuff that has been put aside as I have been hogging her for the paint job.

As you can see the dash is mounted with all the new spiffy Auto Meter gauges and hot damn they work too!

GRILL AND STUFF - January 24, 2005

Now that the hood is all done it was time to start on the rest of the front end of the Jeep. I painted the grill yellow and also threw some flames on the headlights. Once she's painted which we hope will be the last weekend in January I will finish the fender flames and the exterior should be good to go. I have to say doing these few projects has taught me lots about air pressure, paints, chemicals and patience. They say practice makes perfect so Ken's Jeep is my big practice project, then maybe I can do some cool stuff to my three Jeeps!

I also decided to throw some color onto Ken's dash to keep things interesting!! Now that its done he can add those fancy gauges he got for Christmas. He was able to get his drive shaft hoops done, the fire extinguisher mounted and some other bits and pieces this past weekend. For more practice I decided to sand down his helmet and I am preparing to airbrush that for him too. Check back as I will post some pics of that as it gets done (hopefully some time this week!)

THE HOOD - January 6, 2005

I decided to try my hand at airbrushing again, last year I did under the hood of the Still "Miss" Behavin' and it turned out not bad so this year I convinced Ken his All Juiced Up Jeep needed flames. Being very new to this airbrushing thing I'm sure some pros will shake there head when they see my work but we all gotta start somewhere and here is where I started. Just so you know Ken doesn't like flames but beggars can't be choosers and when I said I'd make his girl a bit more flashy for him he was open to whatever I wanted to do it so he gave me free reigns. Let's hope she won't have to be repainted and that it turns out not too bad. First I taped the outline, then I masked the outside, then came some red, orange and finally yellow. When it was all done and dry we pealed off the tape and added a black pinstripe around the flames. Finally we put a couple of coats of celar coat on to bring the colors to life and give it an amazing shine. For a first time flamer I think she's not too bad but I think its also time for a course or two so I can learn the art of airbrushing.

THE BIG BUILD - December 2004

First we started with the frame, then we added the body tub, and then the 4 litre engine, Auto tranny and 231 T-case. Then we added the front clip and welded the back of a YJ roll bar to the fabricated front roll cage. Most of these parts donated by Jeep Stuff and 4X4 Parts, except the front of the cage which was build by Evolution Machining and Fabricating (formerly Federal Fusion) and yes we do still sell these cage fronts.

Ken's motto is to get rid of the extra crap that's not needed. So he started with the wiring harness. As you can see he cut away that big ball of wires and left behind the small bit of wires you see under the dash. I personally would have kept wipers and heat as we always freeze our asses off at the Saddledome, but that's Ken's choice and its been made! He learned an interesting lesson with 2000 and up Jeep TJ's, in order for them to run you need the micro chipped key, the imobilizing unit and the computer. These components were readded along with the discarded wires and ta-da she runs now!

Next came the differentials and the 2" lift. Derek at Total Driveline trussed the rear diff and Ken and I trussed the front diff so that they don't bend from the jumping. Ken then installed 4.56 gears and the Millermatic Locker in the rear, yes she's welded! Here are a couple of pics of her, she now moves under her own power and is pulled out of the shop each morning for viewing.

For Christmas Ken got his dream hood scoop, he's the biggest scoop geek I know and when he opened the box for this one it was love at first sight. So my over Christmas project has involved moocho bondo and sanding but by the evening of the 29th it was painted.

Next he installed his old YJ doors and then will come the big project of making a dash and installing all his fancy new guages that he got for Christmas.

ORANGE CRUSHED - formerly ALL JUICED UP!

ALMOST FIXED - June 22 & 23

Well on top of getting the ground work done for the new Jeep Stuff Shop, trying to get the garden planted and weeded, mow 5 acres of lawn, shampoo carpets, wash walls, plan and organize a wedding, run a new and very busy business, paint decks and house trim, attend a bridal shower, get Precious (my 4 wheelin YJ) ready for her complete make over....we managed to find the time on the weekend to drop another 302 FI engine into All Juiced up and painted another front clip, hood and windshield. She's almost back together, everything has been bolted on, she just needs her rad, some front fender flares and her "All Juiced Up" stickers. One job down - 50 to go!

OOPS - FIXES - Sometime this Spring!

All Juiced Up had a bit of bad luck at its debut at the Street Warrior Competition at the Pengrowth Saddledome February 23rd, 2002. During the practice run on Saturday night the engine we had bought for her went, it had a good bottom end knock and some serious blow by. A very disheartened Ken continued on and decided instead of driving Still "Miss" Behavin' he'd see what was left of the 302.

Well not only did he make the qualifying run but he got the engine to preform twice more enabling him to finish in second place all three times he ran. As the engine held up so well we decided to throw some thicker oil in and run it again on Sunday but as you may have read in the
Jeep Stuff Racing Team section, Ken did a bit of an endo during the qualifying run and sustained some body damage. He came over one of the last jumps and nailed the brakes to make the tight corner but gravity kicked in and All Juiced Up kept going until she came to rest on her roof. Ken was okay - I wasn't - but he was . Ya can't blame him for trying, he pushed the Jeep as much as he could as he didn't want to settle for that second place again!

So the list of things that need fixed on the All Juiced Up Jeep is as follows:

* Get the bottom end of the 302 rebuilt
* Install a new window frame with some lexan (this will be removed before each race)
* Install drivers and passenger fenders
* Replace the hood
* Fix the dent under the passenger door that the chain left when he was being flipped back over
* Fix the cracked fiberglass on the hood scoop

Luckily we have all the parts to do this so within the next few months all the body parts will be painted and replaced so its ready for the big Jeep Stuff Wedding Day! Its kind of a big list though, considering she just finished her stint in the garage. And just to make matters worse May Long is coming and we need to get "Miss" Behavin' Too in the garage for a new 350 or we won't be wheelin'. So that's it for progress for a couple of months on the All Juiced Up Jeep so we'll se ya on the Flip Side!

ALL DONE! - February 23, 2002

Here's the All Juiced Up Jeep painted and stickered, hanging out at the Pengrowth Saddledome at the Monster Jam.

ALL PAINTED UP - February 5, 2002

Yep its true all juiced up is really juiced now and ready to rock. Pretty flashy paint scheme eh? Just need to get the sponsor stickers but the brakes and rear diff together and she's ready for a trial run!

MAIDEN VOYAGE! - January 13, 2002

Well here's the FJ ripping around the Jeep Stuff acres field, testing the tranny, t-case and the engine for power and reliability. Another satisfied Jeep owner!!

A few more things were done to Ken's FJ on the weekend, but not too much as we were busy setting up the Jeep Stuff and 4X4 Parts business. The most significant thing done was the new hood scoop - Ken just had to be a scoopy too! The chrome front and rear bumpers were mounted and further discussion on the paint scheme was held! I think the decision is made and this weekend we'll settle into painting Ken's toy.

SHE RUNS! - January 3, 2002

On the evening of the 3rd of January, Ken brought home some gas and decided to start his new engine. Oh yeah before I go any further you should know that he scrapped the 302 he had originally installed from a Ford F150 and picked up a different 302 out of a mustang and ended up putting fuel injection from a car on it. What a mess of wires fuel injection adds! We are still disagreeing on torque versus RMP but I guess we'll see how she performs to see who is right in this disagreement.

Also over the Christmas holidays the fuel cell was added where the rear seat normally lives along with a battery box next to it (just like in my toy).

Removal of the fender flares has also began but anyone that owns a Jeep knows that this is the crummiest job as the tiny little bolts are so hard to get at and get out! We are removing all the trim and extra goodies as she's gonna get painted soon. I also installed the 5 point harness, some roll bar padding and built the quick release window net.

This weekend will be dedicated to removing the rest of the fender flares and wiring in the rest of the engine so its not fueling so bad, something can be said for vacuum and sensors! She's coming along well - I think we've even named her. Check back soon to see what else is shakin' with the Jeep FJ!

ENGINE - November 24 & 25, 2001

On this chilly snowy weekend the garage was cleaned to make way for the Jeep FJ. She was fitted with a new steering column and the engine was resealed, cleaned and set in place. From there Ken tinkers with it each night doing a bit more like adding rear shocks, playing with the wiring and odds and ends here and there. I even "sqeezed" the color he has chosen for the Jeep outta him but have decided to keep you all in suspense.

If you are interested in the progress of the Jeep keep checking back as she's worked on daily!

THE DRIVETRAIN & BODY
- November 10, 11 & 12

On the Remembrance Day long weekend we decided this would be the weekend to get started on putting Ken's Racer/4 Wheeler together. The weather was amazing with temperatures reaching 14 degrees all three days.

Saturday morning Ken started by first taking the a 1981 Bronco frame and removing the 4 speed standard tranny and 6 cylinder engine. Then came the automatic tranny, and instalation of an old 302 engine. The engine is no good but we put it in to get an idea of spacing for the body and front clip.

Once the drive train was in place I applied a coat of shiney back paint to the frame and differentials. As the paint was drying we added spiffy new RS 5000 shocks. Then we decided it was time to get the Jeep body to see where it needed to line up and start mounting it. First we had to get the tub from the back field to the yard....

We hooked up the ol' farm truck to the Bronco frame and hauled it to the tub. That was the easy part, next Ken and I had to get the tub on top of the frame. This was not an easy task as the tub weighs a few pounds! After much discussion and lifting and tire stacking we were successful at manuevering it on to the back of the frame and then sliding it ahead.

Once we got the frame and tub back to the garage we positioned everything and set out to make body mounts and put the front 35" boggers on her.

Next we attached the front clip and the windshield. Then we removed the seats and cleaned out the interior. Then the dash was installed and the cage set in place. This is when I discovered the half steel doors weren't gonna work with the cage - good thing its not bolted in yet as it will need modification.

Then came the big job of the weekend, cutting off the extra part of the frame and repositioning the rear springs. As the factory Ford leaf springs were too long we added front softer Chevy leafs and a couple of two inch blocks. Once they were together and u-bolted to the differential we proceeded to add back boggers and roll the diff ahead till the wheels fit nicely in the wheelwells. While Ken drilled holes and mounted the springs in place I installed the tailgate. Being the nice guy Ken is, he gave me the spiffy new one and took the old one from my 92 with the "Tim Dent" in it - I think he thinks he may end up rolling his rig!

After three very successful days you can see we have Ken's Jeep FJ almost built. With the exception of the interior being reinstalled, the engine put in, a couple of spiffy bumpers, the whole thing being painted and then the wiring - YUCK! Well maybe we still have a ways to go but she's well on her way!

COLLECTING THE PARTS FOR KEN'S RACER/4 WHEELER
- Spring/Fall 2001

All summer and fall we have been collecting parts for Ken's new racer/off-roader and it looks like we finally have all the right stuff. Now the adventure begins as we start to put the puzzle together and build another Toy for us to play with.

This Jeep YJ will probably end up being an FJ as she's gonna be sporting a complete Ford drive train. We are using a Ford Bronco frame with the twin I-Beam suspension for that independent soft ride we have grown to love in my little 1985 Jeep CJ tuff truck, Still "Miss" Behavin'.

We have had the tub since the spring and a few weeks ago were able to get a great deal on a hood and front clip in mint condition, which is good for those of us that hate body work! We also have a complete interior and a great little 6 point roll cage we picked up in the summer. On October 27th we broke down and bought some new 35" boogers and thanks to Troy from Blaskin and Lane I was able to get some white spoke 10" wide Ford rims to mount them on.

We also snagged some great tube bumpers at Modern Motors big blow out garage sale a while ago to hold the winch he's gonna need for 4 wheelin'. Right now they are shiney chrome with rust accents but will find themselves sandblasted and repainted by along with the Jeep body. Ken still hasn't decided on a color for the Jeep, I suppose it will depend on sponsors.

TOW TRUCK

How did this beast get it's name? More often than not when on trail Ken spent his time 'towing' fellow 'stuck' wheelers out of mud holes as his 8,200 lbs made a good anchor. The funny thing is, he's the one that used to coax them into the muck holes in the first place!

We both took turns racing through the pit with her

Just another picture of the Apache,
she doesn't get out much anymore to get any new pics of her

Now this is an oldie, this picture was taken many years ago,
back when the Apache was little!
